Statement of Compliance

Under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

PeppyFriends(referred to as "the App") functions as a Social Media Intermediary under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 ("the Rules"). The App has established internal processes and safeguards to ensure full compliance with these legal requirements.

Policies and User Awareness

The App's Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Community Guidelines(together called the "App Policies") are available to all users within the Profile section. The App informs users about updates to these policies at least once every calendar year. Users are also notified that any failure to follow these policies may lead to:

  • Restriction or termination of access
  • Removal of violating content
  • Or both

Such notifications are shared through the Important Notifications section within the App.

Content Management & Restrictions

In accordance with the Rules, the App Policies clearly restrict users from posting content that:

  • Violates another person's bodily privacy or targets individuals, especially children, in a harmful or harassing way.
  • Is misleading or false while appearing factual.
  • Involves impersonation intended to deceive, defraud, harass, or cause harm.
  • Threatens the unity, integrity, defense, security, or sovereignty of India.
  • Violates any applicable law.

The App uses automated technology tools and moderation systems to detect and remove such content proactively. The App also follows a Strict No-Nudity Policy, and any form of nudity is removed immediately or access is disabled.

Legal Obligations & Notice Compliance

Any takedown order or directive issued by a competent court or an authorized government body must be sent to the Resident Grievance Officer at: peppys918@gmail.com.

Upon receiving such lawful orders, the App will remove or disable access to prohibited content within 36 hours.

When a written request from a lawfully authorized government agency is received-clearly stating the purpose and legal basis-the App will provide any information under its control within 72 hours.

Data Retention Requirements

As mandated by the Rules:

  • User registration details will be retained for 180 days from the date a user deletes or withdraws their account.
  • Any content removed or disabled will also be stored for 180 days for investigative or legal purposes, or longer if ordered by a court or government authority.

Grievance Handling

The App maintains a structured grievance redressal process, which is detailed under the section titled "Grievance Redressal Procedure" within the App. Users may contact the Grievance Officer for concerns or complaints relating to the App Policies or content.

Assistance with Legal Orders

In accordance with the Rules, and upon receiving a valid order from a court or competent authority, the App may assist in identifying the first originator of specific information when legally required.
